Space Productions – the in-house theatre company for the Space
Space Productions was formed in 2007 by Adam Hemming (Director) and Mari Rettedal-Westlake (Creative Producer). This production company is dedicated to staging accessible, ambitious and inventive theatre. To date the company has staged ten productions of classic plays and well-known stories, providing new opportunities for numerous performers and theatre artists.
Drawing critical acclaim for its productions of The Graduate (2009), A Doll’s House (2010) and The Caucasian Chalk Circle (2011), the Space has provided a vital launchpad for emerging practitioners since its inception. It delivers an extensive creative learning programme, Spaceworks, that has nurtured talent in one of London’s most deprived areas.
“The Space is a very exciting performing arts centre… Its attraction and dedication to the community is clear… this is a piece of theatre that is full of character and intrigue and succeeds in arousing opinions and beliefs in its audience. A promising and engaging production for an innovative space that certainly has some bright years ahead.”
